One of the primary symptoms of neck tension is headaches that affect either one or both sides of the head.

Treatment for Headaches
The tension can come up from the back of the neck into the base of the skull and can affect solely this area, or can come up over the head and concentrate in the forehead region or go along the side of the head into the temples.

The patient can very often go to bed with a headache and wake up in the morning with the headache still in place.
